DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET

Approved by Pope Michael

Begin with the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and profess your faith by reciting the Apostle's Creed.
On the larger beads recite: Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Thy Most Beloved Son and Our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world.
On the smaller beads: Through the sorrowful passion of Jesus have mercy on us and on the whole world.
At the end three times: Holy God, Holy Omnipotent, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Some comments

On the following day Our Lord instructed her thus : "As many times as Thee enter the chapel, immediately recite the prayer I taught Thee yesterday. This prayer is given to appease the wrath of God. You will recite it for nine days on the usual part (five decades) of the rosary in the following way:
"First you will say the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Creed. Then on the larger beads Thee will recite, `Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Thy Most Beloved Son and Our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world.' On the smaller beads, `Through the sorrowful passion of Jesus have mercy on us and on the whole world.' In conclusion Thee will say three times: `Holy God, Holy Omnipotent, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
Because of its brevity and the ease with which it can be prayed, this chaplet has become a very popular and widespread means of fostering devotion to the Mercy of God, and especially efficacious in imploring the grace of conversion for dying sinners.
Concerning its efficacy Sister Faustina wrote several times in the diary. She quotes Christ promising, "During their lifetime and especially in the hour of death, My Mercy will enfold those who will recite this chaplet." And again: "Whoever will recite it (the chaplet) will obtain great mercy in the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as a final means of salvation. Even though a sinner would be the most hardened if he but say this chaplet once, he will receive the grace of My boundless Mercy." And in another entry: "Oh, how great the graces I will impart to the souls which will recite this chaplet. The very depths of My Mercy are moved for those praying this chaplet." And, to quote one more promise: "Write: when they shall pray this chaplet at the bedside of the dying, I will stand between the Father and the dying soul, not as a Just Judge but as a Merciful Redeemer."
