WHO IS POPE MICHAEL?
Bawden had written in 1983: Traditionalist: any person or group, which seeks to solve the present problems outside the Papacy (i.e.  the laws of the Church)
On September 8, 1987, Bawden received a letter informing him of the infallible doctrine of the Vatican Council, that there will be Popes until the end of time.  He decided immediately to place all of his efforts towards electing a Pope.  To this end he worked on Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century?  This book was followed up by Election Update, which finalized the preparation for the Papal Election held on July 16, 1990.

Pope Michael was born David Allen Bawden in Oklahoma City on September 22, 1959.  He was baptized on October 18, 1959 in Christ the King Church in the same city.  On May 22, 1976 he was confirmed by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.  He entered the SSPX seminary in Econe on September 28, 1977 and was transferred to Armada, Michigan in 1978 where he was dismissed without cause.  Lefebvre accepted his appeal and granted him permission to reapply to any SSPX seminary, although this promise proved to be empty.  Bawden resigned all connection to the SSPX on March 5, 1981, when he found and verified the SSPX does not follow the principles of Catholicism.  He then began a course of self study, which led him to realize that Traditionalists do not have authority from the Catholic Church. In 1985 another presentation was made on this.
