GEORGE MUSEY
Here is an enigmatic man. His story is quite an interesting one. What do we know about George Musey? In the mid 1960's his name disappears from The Official Catholic Directory, unlike other Traditionalist priests of the early days, whose names remained in the directory until long after their departure from the Pog Church.
After his departure from the Pog Church in the mid 1960's Musey ran the family business, a German restaurant and bar in Dickinson, Texas. He remained in this occupation until after his consecration as a Bishop by Moises Carmona.
After Saint Jude's fired Bolduc, he sought another church more magnificent than St. Jude's and through his friend, Musey, found one in Dickinson, Texas. Queen of Angels SSPX church in Dickinson is close to Musey's restaurant. In fact Musey would occasionally celebrate a private Mass at Queen of Angels. Later on Musey converted a toilet building to a chapel on the restaurant property.
Musey's first position as a Traditionalist priest was with Saint Jude's Shrine in Stafford, Texas after the Shrine dismissed Hector Bolduc of the SSPX. He worked with St. Jude's and other Traditionalists in the middle part of the United States until his attempted consecration in May of 1981.
A Fr. Grant, also of St. Jude's claimed to have been secretly consecrated bishop and was preparing to consecrate Musey with the assistance of Gary Giuffre. At the last minute this consecration was canceled.
Musey was good friends with a James de Kazel, who also has a colorful history. De Kazel first worked with the SSPX under Anthony Ward at their seminary in Armada, Michigan. He departed there and proceeded to the Houston, Texas area. At some point he married. However he had a desire to become a priest. And so he went to a uniate Eastern Rite for some training and was ordained to the minor orders and subdiaconate in the uniate, una cum Wojtyla. He then went to a schismatic Eastern Rite for ordination as a deacon. For some reason he was not able to be ordained a priest. In 1981 Musey cam in contact with a Joseph Maria, who had been consecrated a bishop in some form of old-Catholic sect. While serving at St. Jude's Musey would bring the deacon DeKazel with him in clerical garb, despite the fact he was a schismatic for his diaconal ordination as well as for earlier ordinations una cum Wojtyla. Sometime in 1981 Musey had Joseph Maria ordain de Kazel a priest with Gary Giuffre in attendance, who took pictures. The last that was heard of de Kazel was that he was an archbishop. In 1983 Bishop Musey wrote an open letter to Archbishop Lefebvre in which he called for a Papal Election. By the Bishops of the Church, says St. Robert Bellarmine in his classic work DE CONCILIIS ET ECCLESIA, I, c. 14. In the event of the papacy being vacant because of heresy, it would be for them to convene, he says, in a General Council – though “Imperfect” – for this sole purpose, namely to “supply the Church with a head.” Why do you take no account of this great authority either?
In the fall of 1981 Musey went with Daniel Jones to visit the newly consecrated Carmona and Zamora. He announced this fact to independent priests, who planned to assemble shortly after Easter, 2002 and elect one of their own to send to Mexico. Musey proceeded to Mexico and encouraged Carmona and Zamora to consecrate him a bishop to preserve the Apostolic Succession in case of an attempt on the lives of Carmona and Zamora. Musey proceeded to the priest's meeting as Bishop Musey to the consternation of all present. He proceeded to consecrate Louis Vezelis OFM, who had been with the SSPX after his departure from the Pog Church in 1977. They proceeded to divide the United States into two diocese, appointing themselves as governing bishops. Soon, however, they were to separate. Vezelis still claims some vague authority, while Musey died leaving his diocese to disintegrate.

Musey was to associate for a time with the CMRI after they separated from Francis Schuckardt. Musey conditionally reordained their priests, but announced at he banquet afterwards that it was a mere formality, which makes one question his intention. He also ordained Mark Pivarunas.
