Siri Theory is Mutating Again!!!
Todays unCatholic World is reporting that Peter Tran Van Khoat now claims several witnesses to Siri's alleged admission that he was eleted as Pope in 1958. If the Genoa newspaper archives were destroyed tomorrow, I woul dnot be surprised to see a faked Genoa newspaper claiming Siri was Pope to back up their theory.
Let us look back. Originally theory was proposed that Siri was elected in 1963 and again in both 1978 Conclaves. This of course, presumes that these three conclaves could have been valid. There are many problems with this theory as disussed elsewhere on this website. Peter Tran Van Khoat went to Italy to find Siri to ask him: Do you accept the Papal Election? The reason was that Siri had been elected, but before he could answer whether he accepted or not, others intervened, according to the theory then proposed. Since Siri had neither accepted nor rejected, it was considered he needed to be asked, so he could accept, and end the vacancy begun in 1963, presumably. (The theory was not clear about this point.)
On May 2, 1989, Joseph Siri died. On January 25, 1990, Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century? was published. Among other thigns, Teresa Benns proved that the election of Angelo Roncalli on October 28, 1958 was invalid, because he was not papabile, that is capable of being elected Pope. And on June 3rd, 1990 after receiving a copy of Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century? Tran Van Khoat's story changes. Siri was not only elected, but he accepted, and this occured on October 26, 1958. The stories about 1963 and 1978 were conveniently forgotten abandoned. Also forgotten was the fact that Tran Van Khoat accepted Karol Wojtyla as his Pope in 1989, when he said that he liked the position of Marcel Lefebvre in regard to the currnet claimant to the papacy. By that very act tran Van Khoat, committed an act of schism against the man he woudl later claim was Pope Gregory XVII. You can't have it both ways Mr. Tran Van!

And now the theory is mutating again. Soon we will see Mr. Tran Van become the Pope in Exile, Pope Innocent XIV At least this is how things appear to be shaping up. If not Khoat, then who? Maybe Daniel Jones will leave his Pope Gregory XVII, Gaston Tremblay, and rejoin with Khoat, announcing that he and Khoat and a few other priests who are now conveniently deceased, gathered in the early 1990's and held a secret conclave, so secret that htey carried on a false front to protect the endangeered pope. Expect many wild theories to continue to help deceive the elect!
