BREAKING NEWS SIRI WAS NOT POPE

Hutton Gibson confirms that the main eye witness to Siri's alleged admission of his papacy, Tran Van Khoat has changed his story on several occasions.  On May 5, 1989 just days after Siri's death Khoat began claiming that Siri was Pope.

Sirianist Movement

The Sirianist Movement originated, when an article was published of an interview between three men and Joseph Siri in 1987.  This article merely stated that Siri had been questioned about the 1963 conclave and replied: I am bound by the secret.
Gary Giuffre from Texas began looking into the possibility that Siri had been elected in 1963 and began a series of articles that appeared in Daniel Jones' Sangre De Cristo Newsnotes This book appeared first as a series of articles here with the plan to appear eventually as a book.  As part of his research Giuffre sent Peter Tran Van Khoat to Italy to try and meet with Siri in the Spring of 1988.  Tran Van Khoat's report did not change anything material in Giuffre's presentation, which continued as before until....
Let us review the original theory.  The theory was that in 1963 Siri received the necessary votes, but before he could be asked whether he would accept, the enemies of the Church intervened, threatening persecution in the Communist countries and possibly the use of nuclear weapon on Rome.  Siri merely replied vote again.  However, since this reply was under duress, it was not a free act and therefore he had not resigned his claim to the Papacy.  And thus the subsequent election of Montini was invalid, which invalidates the decrees of Vatican II, as well as the Novus Ordo Missae, etc.  And then after Montini died, in both 1978 conclaves, Siri was again elected and again prevented from answering freely whether or not he accepted.    And thus the title Exile of the Pope Elect
Thus the theory existed until the Pope Elect died on May 2, 1989, thus ending his claim to the Papacy.  As of that date it can be demonstrated that Siri never publicly claimed the Papacy, thus he could not have performed any Papal Actions.  Since the name and identity of the Pope is a dogmatic fact, it must be made known publicly, at least to Catholics. A look at Siri's life proves that he was not Pope, but rather a Novus Ordo Bishop, as demonstrated recently by David Hobson of In Today's Catholic World.
One would think that Siri's unanswered question: do you accept election as Pope? would have died on May 2, 1989 when he did, thus creating a certain verifiable sede vacante.  All the Sirianists would need to do is to call for a Papal Election from among the Catholics of the world.  And yet, the Sirianists were not Catholics, but Traditionalists.  Like other Traditionalists they had their Mass Centers and their illegitimate priests, etc.
However, though Siri died never believing he was Pope, the theory that he had been elected Pope lived on, but it was soon to change dramatically.  On January 25, 1990, Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century? was published, which proved that the 1978 and 1963 elections could not be valid at all.  Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century? also indicated that on October 26, 1958 UPI had reported that Alfredo Ottaviani had been elected.  And thus the Sirianists had a new theory.  Upon finding the white smoke on October 26, 1958, and the news articles that merely indicated that a Pope had been elected, they declared that Siri had been elected and accepted election, then been threatened.  Instead of his vote again, Siri's resignation had been forced and thus was invalid.  In the summer of 1990, Exile of the Pope Elect, part V and an announcement from Peter Tran Van Khoat that the Cardinal Camerlengo had called for a Papal Election would appear in Jones' Sangre de Cristo Newsnotes. (See ad to the right)  Ironically David Bawden wrote to Gary Giuffre in May of 1989 to tell him that Siri was a dead issue and that now he, Giuffre, was a sede vacantist in need of a Pope like everyone else and that he should host the election at Saint Jude's Shrine in Stafford, Texas.  Bawden is still waiting for an answer.
The Siri Theory would proceed forward for a short time and then fall away until 2004, when it would be resurrected again.  However, the Siri Theory had been promoted by Hutton Gibson, father of the movie director Mel Gibson, who is famous for The Passion of the Christ.  Mel Gibson may have also supported the theory and did prescreen his movie for Giuffre, while his father lived near Giuffre's Church, Saint Jude's Shrine.  However, while others were resurrecting Siri, Gibson dumped Siri and especially Giuffre, who apparently had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to obtain documents to support the Siri Theory without success.
Simply do a search on Pope Gregory XVII Siri and one will find the current sites promoting the theory, as if it were proven fact.  (Be sure to insert Siri, or you may get Clemente of Palmar de Troya, Spain, another Gregory XVII.  The third Gregory XVII, Gaston Tremblay of St. Jovite, Canada, usually does not appear.
With the current Siri Theory we are either waiting the emergence of Pope Innocent XIV or the secret Cardinals that were appointed before Siri's death who will finally proceed to a Papal Election.  Or will a third method be devised?  Dr. Tomas Tello, relying heavily on Will the Catholic Church Survive the Twentieth Century? has declared that the only valid electors are the faithful Traditionalist Bishops from the Thuc Line.  The  Siri proponents from Giuffre to Hobson are soft on Lefebvre.  There are rumors that the Society of Saint Pius X is about to either split into two factions, one sede vacantist and the other with Ratzinger, or will go totally sede vacantist.  Will this provide the cohesion necessary to assemble a Council of Traditionalists, which will proceed forward where Siri supposedly left off?  Will the Society of Saint Pius X produce the secret document from Siri to Lefebvre, authorizing the 1988 consecrations and providing for a Papal Election after Wojtyla's death?  We are left with more questions that answers, and yet no one will ask the hard questions or consider all of the facts of the case.  The facts assembled on this site about Siri were assembled with some basic research, time and less than a hundred dollars in expenditures on books. The information is readily available with a little work, which now does not even need to be completed.
Although many more things could be reported, it is sufficient to state that Joseph Siri was never Pope, as the evidence aptly proves.  Further Siri defected from the Diving and Catholic Faith by his presiding over Vatican II, as well as his participation in the elections of the heresiarchs Roncalli, Montini, Luciani and Wojtyla.  Nothing further need be said!

Althougn nothing further needs to be said, it is possible we will soon here of Pope Innocent XIV, Siri's secret successor.

The Sirianists appeal to private prophecies and yet ignore Scriptural Prophecies, and even misinterpret the private prophecies!  A complete discussion of prophecy is maintained on this site.

In the late 1980's as several people were again proposing the necessity of a Papal Election, the theory that Joseph Siri had been elected Pope in 1963 began to circulate.  These pages are being organized by the name of the key players:

Is this the prophetic Pope in Red or merely an elaborate creation in order to perpetuate the Traditionalist heresy?
The only eyewitness to state that Siri actually claimed to be Pope is Peter Tran Van Khoat.  in 1988 he visited with Siri, and later testified that Siri merely repeated that he was bound by the secret.  In 1989 Khoat abandoned the Siri proposition, accepting rather the Lefebvre position in regard to Wojtyla.  In June, 1990, again Khoat was convinced Siri was Pope and declared Siri had told him this in 1988.
