History of Saint Jude's Shrine
Stafford, Texas
This shrine, founded in 1976 is probably the oldest and largest independent Traditionalist chapel. Although founded under the Society of Saint Pius X, it immediately separated from the Society and became independent, which means that it is not affiliated with any of the major sects of Traditionalism, such as the CMRI, Society of Saint Pius V, Society of Saint Peter or the Knights of Malta.
On Pentecost Sunday, 1990, Peter Tran Van Khoat announces the call of the Cardinal Camerlengo of Pope Gregory XVII to assmble the secret Siri Cardinals to come together and elect a sucessor to Siri, who had now been dead for over a year.
Priests Who Have Served Saint Jude's Shrine
In The War Is Now number 64, Hutton Gibson reports: But Gary is a great priest finder. He tracks them down and brings them to St. Jude's Shrine, so that Catholics in the area need never do without the traditional Mass. So he has maintained such jewels as Hector (the collector) Bolduc, Mario Blanco, and Vincent (novus ordo) Le Moine, up to his strict standards. You may have read about our trials with Le Moine in The Enemy Is Here!, pages 342 to 353, in which he is called 'Father X" Gary had received so many complaints that he told us all to write them directly to Le Moine, so that Gary need not always be the bad guy. So he kept Le Moine there (too hard to replace!). He didn't want to hear from young people reporting for pre-marital instructions to a foul mouthed priest in a pink shirt. Or from mothers who took their children out of church during pornography in sermons. Or from those who failed to appreciate that to obtain certain indulgences they must go to a novus ordo church. Or from people like me who understood the us blasphemous nature of his "mispronounced' Latin during an Mass(?). Gary later (in writing) characterized my complaints as "insanity” which was easier than dealing with them. He eventually induced Le Moine to leave after enough quit going to "mass" to affect the collection.
