According to the report published in various places by Mr. Remy, Siri said: No one has left the conclave. When questioned whether he had been elected in 1963, Siri merely said: I am bound by the secret. One presumes the secret of the conclave. He repeated this twice.

Let us analyze this. All in the conclave, Cardinals and conclavists are bound by the secret, during and after the conclave. There is one notable exception the Pope. As head of the Church to whom the excommunication is reserved he has the option to divulge what happened and to permit others to do the same. He cannot claim to be bound by the secret, but he can refuse to divulge. By claiming to be bound by the secret Siri is stating that he is not Pope, therefore we must conclude that Siri did not accept election, if he ever was elected at all. CASE CLOSED.
