Daniel 10:21: But I will tell thee what is set down in the scripture of truth: and none is my helper in all these things, but in Michael your prince.
Pope Michael In Prophecy
On the previous page some interesting information was developed, that was found in 1999. About he same time some other evidence was discovered and questions were asked. Let it be remembered that prophecy is not proof, but can support the facts, which are to be found elsewhere on this site. These pages were prepared after over 300 pages were prepared discussing dogma and Church Law, and applying them to the current situation. For those who want an easy to read summary, We recommend going two places:
However, many are curious if the election of Pope Michael was prefigured as was the rise of Antichrist and the devastation of the Church discussed on previous pages.
Apocalypse 12:1-2: And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. And being with child, she cried travailing in birth: and was in pain to be delivered. We journey back in time to 1958, when Pope Pius XII died. This labor lasted from October, 1958 until July 16, 1990, when the Papal Election was completed with the election of David Bawden as Pope Michael.
Rev. Kramer in his commentary on the Apocalypse (which will be referred to again) on Verse 2: If Satan would contrive to hinder a papal election, the Church would suffer great travail. Commenting on verse 3 he continues: Satan knows how extensively an interregnum in the papacy would favor his success in recovering his ancient lordship over the world. He then refers us to: For the mystery of iniquity already worketh: only that he who now holdeth do hold, until he be taken out of the way. (II Thessalonians 2:7)
Apocalypse 12:5-6: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her son was taken up to God and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her, a thousand two hundred sixty days. (Note Saint Thomas Aquinas states that times are not to be taken literally.)
Kramer on Apocalypse 12:6: It appears quite logical therefore to interpret “wilderness” to mean a non-Catholic country rather that is not an apostate nation. Providence will prepare a place of refuge in that country to protect the Church during the reign of Antichrist. Verse 14 corroborates this conclusion. The Great Eagle protects its citizens; and though a heathen nation, it will receive and protect the Church.
Apocalypse 12:7-8: And there was a great battle in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought, and his angels. And they prevailed not: neither was their place found any more in heaven.
We must ask why did David Bawden take the name of Pope Michael? It was a new name in the Papacy. David had a life-long devotion to Saint Michael the Archangel, for our fighting is against principalities and power... (Ephesians 6:12) And who fights The Enemy? Saint Michael the Archangel, who calls out who is like God? In this day, when the world teaches us, following the deceptions of Lucifer, that we are all our own gods, this must be challenged.
But at that time shall Michael rise up, the great prince, who standeth for the children of thy people: and a time shall come such as never was from the time that nations began even until that time. And at that time shall thy people be saved, every one that shall be found written in the book. (Daniel 12:1)
And after this the children of Israel shall return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king: and they shall fear the Lord, and his goodness in the last days. (Osee 3:5)
Amos 9:11: In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, that is fallen: and I will close up the breaches of the walls thereof, and repair what was fallen: and I will rebuild it as in the days of old.
Apocalypse 3:7: And to the angel of the church of Philadelphia write: These things saith the Holy One and the true one, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no man shutteth, shutteth and no man openeth: Notice that Saint John the Evangelist says the Key (singular) of David, indicating that the Pope only possesses the key of jurisdiction, but not the key of Holy Orders.
Culleton also notes a contemporary prophesy from a Franciscan priest in Arizona: Don Bosco’s prophecy: "The Pope will die and live again” refers to the peculiar circumstances surrounding Pius XI and Pius XII: when the former died, ‘Fides Intrepida’ died, but when Pius XII, his Secretary of State, was elected, ‘Fides Intrepida’ lived again.
Saint John Capistrano; A great city beast shall succeed and devour the pastures of the little ones.
Saint Malachy: Pastor angelicus Angelic pastor (There is much controversy over these prophecies, so the prophecies of Saint Malachy are included with reservations.)
Monk of Padua: Thou art the Angelic Pastor of Rome, O benevolent doctor, O most indulgent father,-Hail, Gregory XVII, most Holy Father, necessary shepherd. (Because there were two, possibly three anti-popes Gregory XVII, Pope Michael did not consider using this name. All three probably choose this name, because of this prophesy.)
