Pope considers return to Latin mass
May 27, 2007.  This appears to be coming closer.
Rabbi David Rosen, who is in charge of interfaith relations at the American Jewish Committee, said he wrote to several cardinals in March expressing concern about a prayer for the "unfaithful" in the Mass, as well a prayer used during the church's Holy Week liturgy which had contained references to "perfidious," or faithless, Jews.  From Pope considers return to Latin mass, May 27, 2007.  This objection is specious, since this word was changed in 1959 by Antipope John XXIII-II

In the Motu proprio approving the use of the John XXIII Mass, Ratzinger states: Needless to say, in order to experience full communion, the priests of the communities adhering to the former usage cannot, as a matter of principle, exclude celebrating according to the new books. The total exclusion of the new rite would not in fact be consistent with the recognition of its value and holiness.  ... It is not appropriate to speak of these two versions of the Roman Missal as if they were 'two rites.' Rather, it is a matter of a twofold use of one and the same rite.  With two official decrees, recently discovered, this means that in celebrating the Indult Mass of John XXIII the celebrant while reciting pro multis actually means for all, as does a celebrant of hte Latin Novos Ordo Missae.

Pope to restore Tridentine Mass

On October 12, 2006, the Times in the United Kingdom made this announcement in an article.  The Vatican In Exile speculates on this matter here and on accompanying pages.  Further speculations and announcements will be made as information becomes available.
First of all we speculate that this restoration is actually the establishment of a new rite in the Pog Church.  Ironically the New Rite instituted by Antipope Paul VI will be the old rite, and the old rite he replaced will become the new rite.
Some Traditionalists have longed for a seperate rite from the Novus Ordo, where they could have their luiturgical traditions undisturbed.
What is being restored, according to reports, is the 1962 Missal of Antipope John XXIII.  This is not the Tridentine Mass, but a close approximation.  In fact the major change is not apparent to the audience, since the Canon is still recited silently.

It appears that the Society of Saint Pius X, the Lefebvrites will accept this new rite

“Once there are no more valid priests, they’ll permit the Latin Mass.”

Invalidity has been insured.  The New Rite of Ordination was instituted in 1968, so every bishop in the Pog Church since that time has been consecrated in this invalid rite. That was 38 years ago.  Since Canon Law requires a bishop to be 30, the youngest a valid bishop can be is 68 years old, and most likely much older.  Further it has been demonstrated that Marcel Lefebvre was not validly ordained a priest or consecrated a bishop. And so this invalidity was passed on to his four bishops in 1988.  All were invalidly ordained by Lefebvre, so they could not validly become Bishops, despite the fact of Bishop de Castro Meyer's participation.  Also Lefebvre accepted a man who had been ordained in the New Rite of Ordination and may have used it himself.  Since his death the SSPX has also accepted a man consecrated in the New Rite of Episcopal Consecration.  FInally the SSPX has published a series of articles declaring the New Rite of Ordination valid.  The Thucites do not fare any better, since Bishop Peter Martin Ngo-Dihn Thuc used the New Rite in consecrating their first bishops. And so Traditionalism finds itself with few valid priests and no valid bishops, so they are ready to continue the deception of the Pog Church by returning to her fold under Antipope Benedict XVI.

July 7, 2007 Ratzinger Issues Motu Proprio

This motu proprio gives the conditions under which the John XXIII Mass may be used.  These include accepting the Novus Ordo Missae in the vernacular for all form as valid and the theology behind it as declared in two 1970 decrees from Rome on this subject.  Therefore a priest whoa ccepts this means for all, when he says pro multis in the John XXIII Mass.

Note in the decrees from the Pog Church often captilization is omitted where it should be used.  These are produced exactly as found in official books of the Pog Church.
