PEDOPHILIA

With the continuing scandals in the Vatican II Pog Church, which claims the name of Catholic, clarification of the laws of the Catholic Church should be made.
Canon 2359, paragraph 2 states: If they (clerics) have committed an offense against the sixth commandment with minors under sixteen years of age, or been guilty of adultery, rape, bestiality, sodomy, traffic in vice, or incest with blood-relatives or relations by marriage in the first degree, they shall be suspended, declared infamous, deprived of every office, benefice, dignity, or position that they may hold, and in more grievous cases they shall be deposed.  This is from the 1917 Code of Canon Law, which is in place in the Catholic Church.  The Vatican II Church, however repealed this law with the 1983 Code of Canon Law, which states in Canon 1395, paragraph 2: A cleric who has offended in other ways against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue, if the crime was committed by force, or by threats, or in public, or with a minor under the age of sixteen years, is to be punished with just penalties, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state if the case so warrants.
Let us compare the two Canons:
1. The 1917 Code orders suspension, which forbids the exercise of Holy Orders, the 1983 Code does not.
2. The 1917 Code orders infamy, which is an irregularity, also forbidding the exercise of Orders, until absolved by the Pope, the 1983 Code is silent.
3. The 1917 Code orders deprivation of offices, which means that the priest will no longer be allowed in a parish, the 1983 Code makes no such provision.
4. Both the 1917 and 1983 Codes provide for deposition in more serious cases.
The big difference is that the pedophile maybe kept in the priesthood, as has happened in the Vatican II Church, whereas in the Catholic Church he must be removed from the priesthood, no questions asked.  Why did John Paul II remove this sanction from the Code of Canon Law?  It certainly is not for the good of the Faithful to allow pedophiles to be retained in the priesthood, which is exactly what the 1983 Code of Canon Law permits.  John Paul II only orders punishment with just penalties, whatever that may mean.  Obviously the penalties were not sufficient to prevent recidivism!
And what is the cause of this problem in the '60's to now?  Quite simply, priests violated their Oath Against the Errors of Modernism, and as they slid into heresy, sins against the Sixth Commandment, including pedophilia became easy for them.  If one is not zealous about holding to the doctrines of the Faith, why should one worry about keeping his pants on and his hands to himself?

New Information

The Fifth Lateran Council decrees: That clerics may live chastely and continently as required by the sacred canons, we decree that those who do contrary be severely punished.  If anyone, cleric or layman, be convicted of the crime on account of which the anger of God came upon the children of unbelief, let him be punished in accordance with the sacred canon or the civil law respectively.  Concubinarii, whether clerical or lay, shall be punished in accordance with the same canons.  Toleration by superiors, contrary custom, or any other subterfuge cannot be accepted as justifiable excuses; these must be corrected and those who tolerate them punished in accordance with the law.
For know you this and understand: That no fornicator or unclean or covetous person (which is a serving of idols) hath inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the children of unbelief. (Ephesians 5:5-6)
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is the service of idols. For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief. (Colossians 3:5-6)
