Intentions of the Pope
The intentions of the Supreme Pontiff are: the exaltation of Holy Mother Church, the extirpation (overcoming) of heresies, propagation of the Faith, the conversion of sinners and peace among Christian nations. Unless specific prayers are prescribed for the Pope's intentions, any vocal prayers may be used.
The Pope's intention for September and October is for vocations. The harvest is great but the laborers are few.
Updates and Breaking News
Antipope Benedict XVI has made statements that are undesirable to Moslems. The true doctrine of the Catholic Church in regard to Islam will soon be published here.
On September 12, 2006 Antipope Benedict XVI quoted a 14th century source: "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached". He also quoted surah 2, 256, which reads: "There is no compulsion in religion". The first quote caused much controversy and this controversy needs to be addressed.
Hilaire Belloc stated in his book, The Great Heresies, that the next heresy the Catholic Church would have to deal with is Islam. De Montor in his Lives of the Popes states that Mohammed was influenced by a Nestorian monk, which is why he has Jesus as a prophet in Islam. However, Mohammed holds himself as the highest and most important prophet.
Vatican II in the heretical document, Nostra Aetate states: “The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.
“Since in the course of centuries not a few quarrels and hostilities have arisen between Christians and Moslems, this sacred synod urges all to forget the past and to work sincerely for mutual understanding and to preserve as well as to promote together for the benefit of all mankind social justice and moral welfare, as well as peace and freedom.”
Of course, as a false religion, it is impossible for Islam to lead a person to heaven, for there is only one true religion. Vatican II and its propagators John XXIII, Paul VI, John Pauls I and II and now Benedict XVI, hold that Islam like all religions are merely various paths to heaven and that people are free to choose whatever path they wish.
