The Pope Speaks

If any man will live in the love of God, the love that is in him will be multiplied.  I will give you a practical test to try yourselves.  What are your first dispositions towards everybody around you?  What are your first thoughts about them?  Are they gentle and kindly, or censorious and critical?  Is it an effort to you to be charitable, or is it an effort to you to be severe?  If the habitual countenance, so to say, of your heart is charitable, and thought of severity are acts of second thought constrained by necessity, not prompted by your habitual state, then you are living in the love of God and your neighbor.  But if your habitual state, and what I will call the countenance of your heart, is contracted, and clouded and churlish, if it is an effort to you, if it need deliberation, so that you must put a force upon yourself before you can act or speak charitably to others, then your habitual state can hardly be one of the love of God and of your neighbor. (Cardinal Manning, Internal Mission of the Holy Ghost, page 137)
And so Cardinal Manning tells us how we ought to live our lives.  How we should treat our neighbor.  And if we do not measure up, then we have to change our ways!
My friends, I am reading this among other books at the moment.  As I read every day I come across thoughts that are important and I want to share.  In order to do this I have established a website www.PopeSpeaks.VaticanInExile.com where I will post several times a week thoughts such as the one above, which will go up in the next day or so.
As I look forward to the next six months or even more and the many things to be accomplished, I do not see much time to expand the main website www.VaticanInExile.com.   There are important things there and these are available to anyone who uses the internet to seek the truth that will lead them to heaven.  I call your attention to two sections:
www.VaticanInExile.com/sanctification/sanctification.html  This is a section with various things that will help you and me become saints.
VaticanInExile.com/TheologicalDiscussions/papacy/papacysummary.html  Here I have presented the basic doctrine of the Papacy, refuting the numerous heresies of today which have confused many.
If you are seeking something specific, then simply use the search box to search the Vatican In Exile website and my other site www.CatholicResearch.org.  I have finally posted about 150 pages on the latter site with basic decrees of the Catholic Church, etc.  The Vatican In Exile has over a thousand pages, which should be sufficient to answer any question a person has today on the Catholic Church.  If this is not sufficient, then ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.
One reason for establishing The Pope Speaks is to give at least a weekly sermon. (Note, when I am away from home I may be unable to post, but I hope to find a way to post even then.)  My friends, we should all be reading something several times a week that inspires us to do better and sharing this with our friends to inspire them as well.  This shall be the motivation behind this website.  In fact, there are already quite a few posts made while trying to overcome a technical problem.  This gave us all a headache for several weeks.  In fact, my website hosting company did not figure out the problem until someone else contacted them with the same problem.  Then they cured both problems.  And so visit and catch up on the past.
From time to time I will place posts on subjects other than religion, I think are important.  I pray you find the spiritual posts to be helpful in your journey towards heaven.  May God bless all of you.

Prayer for the Restoration of the Mass

The prophet Daniel prophesied, and in the half of the week the victim and the sacrifice shall fail: and there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 9:27) And strength was given him against the continual sacrifice, because of sins: and truth shall be cast down on the ground. (Daniel 8:12) These terrible prophecies have come to pass.  We long to again participate in the unbloody sacrifice of the Mass and receive Thy Body and Blood in Holy Communion.  We promise to learn the truths of the Faith, which have been cast down on the ground and to turn away from sin, which has given Antichrist power against the continual sacrifice and to return to Thee, as Isaias bids us.  We promise with the help of Thy grace to do all in our power to remove any obstacle in ourselves to the worthy reception of Thy Sacred Body and Blood in the Most Holy Eucharist.  Until this holy day comes, when our desire can be fulfilled in participation at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, We desire to receive Thee spiritually, who cannot receive Thee sacramentally.  Amen.
In the Prayer for the Restoration of the Mass we make several promises.  (Written by Pope Michael in 1992):
1. We promise to learn the truths of the Faith,
2. and to turn away from sin,
3. We promise with the help of Thy grace to do all in our power to remove any obstacle in ourselves to the worthy reception of Thy Sacred Body and Blood in the Most Holy Eucharist.

We recommend also checking out the whole section on Sanctification as a suitable preparation for Easter!

Intentions of the Pope

The intentions of the Supreme Pontiff are: the exaltation of Holy Mother Church, the extirpation (overcoming) of heresies, propagation of the Faith, the conversion of sinners and peace among Christian nations.  Unless specific prayers are prescribed for the Pope's intentions, any vocal prayers may be used. See information on gaining an indulgence.
