Intentions of the Pope
The intentions of the Supreme Pontiff are: the exaltation of Holy Mother Church, the extirpation (overcoming) of heresies, propagation of the Faith, the conversion of sinners and peace among Christian nations. Unless specific prayers are prescribed for the Pope's intentions, any vocal prayers may be used.
The Pope's intention for August is for vocations. The harvest is great but the laborers are few.
Updates and Breaking News
Please watch here for an announcement to come possibly on the Feast of the Transfiguration.
Dear friends,
One provision of this decree was to stabilize all Ecclesiastical Laws to the position they were on October 9, 1958, when Pope Pius XII died. This reverses some of the changes in laws that we have made. We did this in order to facilitate the return to the Church of those deceived by the Traditionalists. This law becomes effective on May 2, 2006, thus changing the fast laws for the United States. The Laws are posted at http://www.VaticanInExile.com/Decrees/FastUS.html This effects the fasting on August 14th, the Vigil of the Assumption, which is Fast and Complete Abstinence. Those outside the United States are requested to check their own regulations. We would like to post these eventually to the website, so all can conform to the laws of the Church. Remember that when the Church fasts together this is VERY POWERFUL.

Canon 332 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law provides: The Roman Pontiff acquires full and supreme power in the Church, when together with episcopal consecration, he has been lawfully elected and has accepted the election. … If he does not have the episcopal character, he is immediately to be ordained Bishop. We will grant that this is a departure from almost two millennia of tradition, but all these laws have the same provision. A man does not become Pope until he has been consecrated Bishop. Canon 379 states: Unless prevented by a lawful reason, one who is promoted to the episcopate must receive episcopal consecration within three months of receiving the apostolic letters, and in fact before he takes possession of his office. What this says is that a man cannot have the office of Bishop without possessing the Order of Bishop.
The 1917 Code of Canon Law teaches the traditional doctrine of the Papacy:
Canon 219: The Roman Pontiff legitimately elected obtains, from the moment he accepts election, the full power of supreme jurisdiction by divine right.
Canon 218: As the successor to the primacy of St. Peter, the Roman Pontiff has not only the primacy of honor, but also supreme and full jurisdiction over the universal Church, in matters of faith and morals as well as in those pertaining to the discipline and government of the Church throughout the whole world. This power is episcopal, ordinary and immediate, and extends over each and every church, and over each and every pastor as well as over the faithful, and is independent of all human authority.
Remember that Jesus appointed Peter as Pope prior to Holy Thursday, instituting the Papacy and appointing the first Pope prior to instituting the Mass, Holy Orders or Confession. Jesus instituted the Mass and Holy Orders on Holy Thursday and then granted the Apostle's authority to absolve form sins after His Resurrection.
